Diese Innovationsschwäche kann folgen haben. Gewinn erzielen die deutschen Unternehmen derzeit vor allem mit Produkten, die am Ende ihres Produktlebenszyklus stehen. Der deutsche Anteil an verkauften Patenten in den Spitzentechniken sinkt, während er bei der Konkurrenz steigt. Das Problem ist weniger ein Mangel an Ideen und Erfindungen als deren Vermarktung. Um zukünftig der Dynamik des Marktes gerecht zu werden und mit Innovationen den Vorsprung zu den Konkurrenten halten zu können ist der Einsatz des Qualitätsmanagements im Produktinnovationsprozeß zu prüfen. Produktinnovationen sind nicht ohne einen effektiven und effizienten Prozeßerreichbar. Unabdingbar sind darüber hinaus qualitätsrelevante Kenntnisse, Methoden und Instrumente des Qualitätsmanagements, die den Zielen der Neuproduktpolitik gerecht werden. Gang der Untersuchung: Die anschließende Ausführung erfaßt die Komplexität des Produktinnovationsprozesses und zeigt die Entwicklungsperspektiven zur Vermarktung von Produktideen auf. Aus diesem Grund werden verschiedene Qualitätsinstrumente vorgestellt, die geeignete Werkzeuge des Qualitätsmanagements in der Produktentwicklung darstellen, um eine kontinuierliche Anpassung an veränderte Marktbedingungen zu erzielen.
