Um dies zu verdeutlichen, wird auf die Entwicklung der Nachhaltigkeitsberichte in den letzten Jahren eingegangen. Hier werden immer wieder publizistisch Relevante Faktoren herausgehoben, um darzulegen, wie sich Nachhaltigkeitsberichte im publizistischen Bereich entwickelt haben. Des Weiteren werden Trends und Herausforderungen in der Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattung genauer thematisiert. Im Anschluss daran wurde ein Interview ausgewertet und eine Matrix erstellt, die einen praktischen Bezug zu dem Thema herstellen soll. Daher werden die publizistischen Faktoren mit der Interviewauswertung verglichen und beschrieben, welche Faktoren die Unternehmen anwenden.
