About the Book

"A Public Asian" from "A City Zen" is a collection of learning experiences for anyone eager to progress in the English speaking world with their respect and dignity intact in any city on the planet, while abiding to eastern & western morals, ethics, standards and values. A DO-IT-YOURSELF BOOK FOR ALL ABOVE TEENAGERS TO SURVIVE AND PROGRESS IN ANY CITY ON THIS PLANET. ALSO FOR PARENTS WITH YOUNGER CHILDREN WHO HAVE HIGH ASPIRATIONS FOR THEM. 50+ rhyming poems, highlighting what I have learned and gained from people in all walks of life, internationally; by listening and observing, analyzing and documenting. Traits, differences and similarities of social structures of the general public in places of organized chaos, usually called a city. "A Public Asian" is written in simple English, for anyone who has concern for their own or their children's advancement and survival in this "dog eat dog" world of economics and global upheaval. The sometimes cryptic messages will equip the reader with necessary ammunition for situations that occur during daily human interaction, whether they are with the general public, service providers or government officials.
About the Author: I was born in Bandra, the queen of suburbs, in the most affluent part North Bombay, larger and faster than Hollywood ever was or will be. We lived among actors, doctors, engineers, airline and sea faring captains, artists, poets, writers, producers, sportsmen/ women and professionals of every caliber and industry. Mr. Dilip Kumar & Johnny Walker were my badminton teachers, while Harindranath Chatopadhya & Akthar Ul Iman, my writing mentors, Shashi Kala and many prominent leaders of society and industry were neighbours and friends. The eldest son of a pioneer jet engineer, I grew up with Steve McQueen, James Dean, Clint Eastwood, Elvis Presley, Cliff Richard, Jim Reeves, Frank Sinatra & Nat King Cole as my personal western mentors in the creative arena. In 1969, year of the Woodstock music happening, I began writing poetry & song lyric, though I didn't realize then what it meant or that I had a natural talent and flair for it. In 1976 I left my birth place to work in the Middle East, eventually caring for multimillion dollar yachts for the royal family, till I migrated to Australia in the early 80's. In 1983, on "The Same Day" that I wrote the poem of the same name, I came to the realization that I had this God given gift, to relate what many things in history really meant, in simple and often in cryptic terms. Since then, I have written a collection of some 800+ pieces for various media, all very picturesque and entertaining, that will equip and inform anyone who wants to reside in a big city, with some basic survival tips, that may be very helpful to being street smart in any large metropolis, full of mysteries and villains. They include poetry, song lyric, musicals, movie scripts & my personal understanding of western teachings from an eastern perspective. Another collection is a positive, pseudo- educational kids' package, in easy to remember, rhyming songs, with no demons, dragons, monsters, violence or witches. An international learning tool for parents, guardians and educators to prepare their offspring and cares for the real challenges and opportunities in this little global village that we call Earth. May "A Public Asian" help you be a better "City Zen" to play your part historically & geographically in "The Con-Version Of Earth" .
