Vor diesem Hintergrund ist besonders der Zusammenhang von Konsumentenpersönlichkeit und Marketingstrategie für die richtige Platzierung von Werbemaßnahmen von kommerzieller Relevanz. Mit der zunehmenden Nutzung computergestützter Online-Verfahren in der Persönlichkeitsdiagnostik macht sich die Forschung die Veröffentlichung von persönlichen Daten in sozialen Netzwerken zu Nutze. Unter anderem war es möglich, eine Vorhersage der Persönlichkeitseigenschaften anhand von Facebook-Profilen machen. Den Ergebnissen einer Studie zufolge haben extrovertierte Personen mehr Facebook-Freunde und interagieren online mehr mit anderen Personen. Personen, die offen für Erfahrungen sind, nutzen häufig den "Like"-Button und aktualisieren häufiger ihren Status. Gewissenhafte Personen konnten mit weniger Likes, aber dafür mehr Foto-Uploads in Verbindung gebracht werden. Neben Facebook konnten Persönlichkeitseigenschaften auch aus Twitter-Profilen vorhergesagt werden. Diese Arbeit liefert einen theoretischen Einblick in die Entwicklung und Aufstellung der Persönlichkeitsdiagnostik in der Wissenschaft und der Wirtschaft. Zunächst wird der theoretische Hintergrund der Persönlichkeitsdiagnostik vorgestellt. Verschiedene Modelle werden kurz erläutert, wobei der Fokus auf den eigenschaftsorientierten Ansatz gelegt wird, welcher von historischen Typologien abzugrenzen ist. Hinsichtlich der Persönlichkeitsdiagnostik wird neben der gängigen Testentwicklung und einigen Verfahren exemplarisch auf den NEO-PI-R und den BIP eingegangen. Gütekriterien werden bezüglich ihrer Bedeutung in der Diagnostik erläutert und zwischen den behandelten Tests verglichen. Abschließe
