About the Book

The Problem with Being Human is about learning, that life is not just about learning from mistakes, but learning from lesson after lesson, or from experience after experience until we make no more mistakes, that a lesson is repeated until it is learned and that learning lessons does not end.

In the beginning when we enter this world we start to learn there are lots of rules to learn, lots of do's and don'ts many of which seem silly, wrong and unnatural because answers only beg more questions which are never answered. And it's not just parents or teachers, it's politics, media and the church and every other mind-grinder with their vacuous 'knowledge' which generates 'unknowing' instead of curiosity, exploration and the nature of happiness.

In recent years (2020-2022) life and learning has been more overtly about exerting control by instilling fear although the generation of fear has been very much key to our crumbling civilisation.

It's time now for human beings as individuals to reject fear and regain their own sovereignty.

To find out how you can do this, read the book.
About the Author: Bob authored several management books in his professional career before finding his escape to France in early retirement and discovering the place and space within which to engage in more captivating writings in the mind, body, and soul genre. His first published book in this field, Two Strangers - One Soul - shows how there is more than one way, the obvious way, of looking at things. The success of this book subsequently gave birth to a series of books namely: Leaves in the Stream - a search for values that work naturally - and Pathways to Stillness. These three can be read as a trilogy or as stand-alone books. The popularity of Pathways to Stillness led to the creation of www.pathwaystostillness.com, a website focused on offering retreats to beginners and intermediates with the aim of introducing and sharing a variety of techniques to find stillness within yourself and through re-connecting with nature. The Sophia Dialogues is Bob's fourth novel and focuses on a way of growing consciousness, and how to see more than the obvious, and think and see beyond the usual momentary glimpse. His latest book published in early 2017 is titled The Problem with Being Human. The problem with being human is that we each create our own reality and, while we do so, we are largely unaware of it. Even if we grudgingly realise that some of the things that happen to us are perhaps our own fault, we still remain mostly unaware of how we create our reality. The Problem with Being Human attempts to show us how we can create a better reality for each of us through growing our consciousness and by changing the way we see things. We become what we think. There is no one single version of reality, we each have our own.
