El 11 de marzo de 2004, en Madrid, en los trenes de Cercanías del corredor del Henares, tuvo lugar el mayor atentado terrorista de Europa, con 191 muertos y miles de heridos. Casi todos los medios de comunicación, los políticos, los jueces... siempre han mantenido que los atentados del 11 M fueron cometidos por islamistas de Al Qaeda. Pero nadie ha destapado las razones de ese atentado, ni el explosivo que se utilizó, ni el por qué del encubrimiento policial, judicial y mediático que siguió. Es un tema tabú en España. La misma mañana del 11 de marzo, la Comisaría General de Información de la Policía Nacional creó un equipo secreto de investigación para descubrir qué había ocurrido. Falsedades, filtraciones interesadas y amenazas es el ambiente donde trabaja Roberto Alonso, un joven inspector de policía de Pontevedra que se interesa por los atentados del once de marzo. Su amigo Javier Lozano, periodista, le ayuda en su investigación. Una mañana, en casa de su madre en Alcalá de Henares, una hermosa mujer, inspectora de policía del equipo secreto, se presenta para convencerle que deje la investigación. Al día siguiente, Alonso tenía una cita con un Tedax que estuvo trabajando en los trenes aquella mañana, pero un desconocido atentó contra él. Poco a poco, la relación con esa mujer, Esther Baquero, se convertirá en lo más importante en la vida de Alonso, aunque se le presenta el dilema de si continuar o abandonar el trabajo que está realizando. ¿Fue realmente Al Qaeda?¿Tuvo algo que ver ETA en los atentados? ¿Es cierto que algunos mandos policiales incurrieron en irregularidades en la investigación? Diferentes tramas, diversos intereses, se entrecruzan en su camino.
About the Author: Teodoro L. Basterra (Bilbao, 1961), escritor español, es diplomado en Psicología por la UNED y Máster en Mediación, aunque también ha estudiado Bellas Artes en la Universidad del País Vasco y Diseño y Fotografía en la Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Corella (Navarra). Ha vivido en varias localidades de Navarra, como Pamplona, y reside actualmente en Alfaro (La Rioja), donde trabaja en el Ayuntamiento. Miembro fundador de la "Asociación de Amigos de la Poesía de La Rioja Baja", su obra poética ha sido recogida en antologías como Poemas de mar a mar (2006) y Vida de perros. Poemas perrunos (2007), Encuentros (2008); mientras que su obra narrativa ha sido premiada en diversos certámenes literarios como el Voces de Mujer (Alfaro), y el Ciudad de Alfaro; el Villa de Autol, o el Esteban Manuel de Villegas de Nájera (La Rioja). Alguno de sus relatos han sido publicados en el libro Voces de mujer (2006). Todos están incluidos en el recopilatorio Saga y anclaje (Ediciones del 4 de agosto, 2008). En 2014 publicó la novela, 'La primera víctima'. En 2018, espera publicar su segundo trabajo novelístico, un 'thriller' policíaco que se adentra en el oscuro mundo de los intereses internacionales sobre el conflicto saharaui.
