[...] Neben den politischen Leitartikeln und kurzen Aufsätzen [...] gibt es kein Wissen und Interessengebiet, von dem man nicht Artikel herleiten könnte, die nicht in Schlußaufsätzen direkt oder indirekt propagandistisch wirken. Von hoher Bedeutung sind Schlagzeilen und Aussprüche bekannter Persönlichkeiten, die m Text verstreut dem Leser ins Auge fallen und ihn langsam be-einflussen und allmählich umstellen" (Goebbels, zitiert nach Sösemann 2011: 750) Das obenstehende Zitat stammt von Joseph Goebbels aus einer Rede zum "Wesen und Aufbau der nationalsozialistischen Propaganda" vom 1. Juni 1934 (Sösemann 2011: 750) und beschreibt den Zweck, den die Presse in Goebbels Augen für die Propaganda der Nationalsozialisten erfüllte. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt war die Reichsregierung unter Adolf Hitler bereits seit über einem Jahr an der Macht und die Maßnahmen zur Kontrolle der Presse weit fortgeschritten. Die Beherrschung der Presse war nur ein Teilziel der Kontrolle der öffentlichen Kommunikation durch die Nationalsozialisten. Gerade der Rundfunk, der am häufigsten zur direkten Beeinflussung der Bevölkerung genutzt wur-de, aber auch das Fernsehen wurden vielfach als "Propagandamittel" eingesetzt (Podehl 2008: 24 f.). Die Presse jedoch war damals das am längsten etablierte Medium. Daher ist es besonders interessant sich damit zu befassen, wie es der Reichsregierung gelang den vorher für sie recht unbedeutenden Printmedien eine neue Funktion zu geben und zu versuchen die Kontrolle über sie zu gewinnen. Aus diesem Grunde geht diese Arbeit der Frage nach, welche Schritte und Maßnahmen die Nationalsozialis
