About the Book

I was born in Pakistan and spent approximately half of my life in that country. I am much familiar with the culture of the East and the West. Therefore, during these turbulent and chaotic times in the world, I think it is my duty to make an effort to write a synopsis of my favorite book, the Quran, which would serve as a bridge between the three major religions of the world; Christianity, Islam and Judaism and would be instrumental in promoting peace in the world. During my discussions with my colleagues on religious matters, I realized how little an average American knows about the true Islam. Many of my colleagues advised me to write a book so that I can educate an average American about the real message of the Quran, which is completely opposite to what has been projected by a handful of misguided, uneducated, extremist Muslims in the world and some ill-informed critics in the West. I have purposely kept this book "short and sweet" so that it can be read by the masses who have a real thirst for an "easy to read" book on the Quran. I have also endeavored to broach and explain the verses most frequently cited by the ardent critics of the Quran. Its target audience is, therefore, people at large throughout the world. For Non-Muslims this book is intended to summarize the real message of Islam. For Muslims this book would be a "quick guide" to refer to on a regular basis.
About the Author: I am a board certified gastroenterologist, with a successful practice in a Multi-Specialty group in Wisconsin, comprising of more than two hundred Physicians and Surgeons, for the past eighteen years. My job provides me with the opportunity to interact with thousands of patients and many colleagues. I had published a few articles in Medical Journals about twenty years ago, during my training in Medicine and Gastroenterology, while I was in Michigan. This is my first book endeavor. I neither seek monitory gains for my personal use nor any fame or glory. The sole purpose of this humble endeavor on my part, is to give back to this beautiful world of ours, a sincere effort towards promoting peace. Most recently, the negative propaganda against the Quran by a small but vocal ill-informed segment of the West has compelled me to respond on the basis of the guidance spelled out clearly in the very first verse of the Quran, "Read in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created - created man out of a germ-cell! Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One who has taught (man) the use of pen - taught man what he did not know." Therefore, it behooves me to pick up the pen, and educate the masses about this great book of God, I owe my life and my serenity to. I hope, God willing, after reading this book the small minority that has threatened to burn the Quran would be amongst the foremost in defending the Quran. I pledge that all the proceeds from this book would be channeled in educating (scientific and religious) the poverty stricken youth of the developing countries, particularly Pakistan with special emphasis on the golden commandments of the Quran and their implementation in their day-to-day life. And also the proceeds would be used to educate the West, particularly the USA, about the teachings of the Quran and promote inter-faith dialogue.
