About the Book

The result of materialization to omissions of the mainstream IO psychology is a failure to predict changes within industrial/organizational (IO) psychology. To learn more of the present, past, and to better predict the future of IO psychology, an exploration occurs of three existing deficiencies as an implicit acceptance of a political economic framework, ahistorical habits, and a failure to appreciate continuity. The suggestion of the analysis is the future will be more consistent with the present than current assumptions, and it may be necessary for IO psychologists to understand better the historical status of the position of their field, the ongoing political economy, and the historical context of organizational evolution. The predictive efforts of industrial organizational psychologists of the future nature of organizational work and their own future has been mostly unsuccessful. The future will be looked on through the inaccuracies of problematic previous predictions, making the assumption the predictions themselves to be less informative than the analysis of the inaccuracies within the predictions. Certain predictions such as self-actualization within the workplace, participation in management by lower-level participants, the inevitable death of bureaucracy, and the satisfaction of lower-level needs may ultimately come true within the majority, pertaining to these superfactors life has improved just barely. For many people in context things have gotten worse. Speculating the reasons for failure and making the assertion through understanding these failures, a better understanding will present itself in the accuracy of predicting the future and understanding IO psychology.
About the Author: Steven grows-up in a small town in Boston, Massachusetts, playing with other children in his neighborhood. Steven leads a mostly quiet life spending much of his time devoted to his studies. Steven views himself more as a curious person than as a genius. He is born on July 13, 1975, his father was a machinist and mother Beverly was daughter to a machinist. Steven liked running and climbing but most of all he liked collecting, match box cars, baseball cards, muscle men figures, and pretty much anything else he could get his hands on. Steven grows-up with his two sisters who as mentioned earlier lead a relatively quiet life. Steven at times rebels at home by sneaking out of the house at night to join in the endeavors of locals in the neighborhood. Steven succeeds within University of Phoenix receiving a Bachelor of Science degree graduating with honors. During this time, Steven authors four works pertaining to his area of study and another on the secrets to self-publishing. Steven has written 50+ total in print books. He may be most known for his collection of 90+ eBooks and over 170 eBook publications. This is where most of Steven's authority in writing resides. Through his intense study and writing routine, he has become an SME in various domains. Steven is currently an affiliate member of each the American Psychological Association (APA) and Society for Industrial & Organizational Psychology (SIOP). He is a recent graduate of the terminal master's degree IO psychology program at SNHU. He is beginning a doctoral program at Grand Canyon University in psychology in September of 2015 of which he hopes to complete during 2019.
