Rund 50 Prozent der Unternehmen haben Schwierigkeiten, offene Stellen zu besetzen, lautet das Ergebnis der Umfrage „Personalmarketing und Recruiting im Aufwind", bei der das Karrierenetzwerk e-follows und die Unternehmensberatung McKinsey & Company 24 große Unternehmen in Deutschland befragten. „Es droht ein dramatischer Engpass an Führungsnachwuchs", bekräftigt auch Norbert Wangnick, Vorstand der Personalberatung Access. „Unternehmen, die jetzt keine Gegenmaßnahmen ergreifen, dürften im neuen ‚War for Talents' zu den Verlierern zählen. Viele Unternehmen handeln bereits entsprechend. Das Beratungsunternehmen Capgemini Ernst & Young befragte 2004 in einer umfangreichen Human Ressources Studie die Personalmanager von deutschen und Schweizer Unternehmen nach den drängenden Aufgaben der Zukunft. Als wichtigstes Thema wurde der „Krieg um Talente" - also die Gewinnung von High Potentials sowie die langfristige Mitarbeiterbindung - von fast der Hälfte der befragten Unternehmen genannt. Problemstellung: Das Thema Praktikum ist derzeit so präsent wie noch nie. Außer unzähligen Praktikaratgebern und Praktikaangeboten gibt es jedoch kaum eine kritische Auseinandersetzung und Untersuchung dieser Thematik, inwiefern es sich dabei tatsächlich um eine Brücke zwischen Theorie und Praxis handelt. Die Idee zu dieser Arbeit entstand vor dem Hintergrund, dass sich das Praktikum als Nachwuchsrekrutierungsmittel einer immer höheren Beliebtheit erfreut und immer mehr Arbeitgeber praktische Erfahrungen als Einstellungsvoraussetzung propagieren. Jedoch ist ein Praktikum nicht gleich ein Praktikum und wird sowohl von den Praktikumsgebern als auch von den Praktikanten nicht immer optimal durchgeführt bzw. ernst genug genommen.
