About the Book

Animal fiction, 12 plus. The Long Road Home is the second and concluding part of The Prairie Drifter series. Star, a young Mustang, is hunted by a ruthless leader, Shade, who has killed Star's father, Abrazo, and now wishes to kill him, and bring an end to any hope of an ancient prophecy coming true. Shade's war to control the Prairie herds is almost complete. His Zellats roam the lands oppressing all who oppose him. Yet, in this dark time, there are still a few that still believe. Set free by Flying Hawk, son of Chief Brown Elk, Star, is persuaded by his friend Migisi the Eagle that he must go north to continue his quest. So, the lone stallion heads off on his treacherous journey to the frozen seas in search of the great wise White Bear. From there he must travel east across the snowy peaks of the Great Mountain to find the mystical Guardians of Arion, an ancient Order, where he hopes to discover his part in this prophecy. It will demand a greater sacrifice than any creature has ever faced, but with the help of Goran the Wolf, Migisi the Eagle, Kara the Mountain Lion, and his band of friends, the young horse will discover his true powers and return a proud Mustang of the Plains. He must eventually summon all his courage to face the destiny he was born for; to conquer those that drove him away and bring peace to his world again.

About the Author: I was born and raised in a small seaside town of Cardigan on the West coast of Wales. After University, I spent many years working in London before finally moving from the city to the countryside, eventually settling in the idyllic Cotswold region of England, where I've had more time to focus on my writing. From a very early age, I had a keen interest in crafting stories and would get lost for hours in my adventures. My working career in predominantly senior marketing and creative positions enabled me to continue this childhood passion and fuelled my dream to eventually attempt to write a full blown novel. I've found books by authors such as Richard Adams and William Horwood fascinating, where they used animal subject matter to deliver human stories and this genre very much inspired me in the direction I would take for my first novel, A Squirrel's Tale and subsequently with The Prairie Drifter series. "Journey of Discovery," and "The Long Road Home." My biggest hope is that people really enjoy the characters and the journey they take as much as I enjoyed creating them.
