About the Book

In our time, radio, radar devices and other technical innovations, in fact, it seems surprising to us the possibility of visual perception without the help of the eyes, only one optic nerve, or even with the help of the visual center in the brain.A report of one blind man from Mahratt who could read books; with their inner eye, or about a yogi that drove a car blindfolded in the thick hustle and bustle of the London movement - are not isolated. Even Lambroso, a world-famous scientist, through hypnosis caused the blind man to smell with his toes, taste with his knees and read the outer surface of the auricle. No less impressive are the experiences of Colonel A. de Roche, Dr. X. Lurville and S. Lancelen. Professor Dr. Donald Hebb, director of a psychology seminar at McGill University in Montreal, has made an interesting experiment recently. He forced 46 of his students to conduct the following experiment: "Each of the participants was placed in a separate room. His eyes were blind folded; his hands in tight long cuffs, his body lay on soft air mattresses. Thus, the subject turned out to be completely isolated from light, sound, deprived of the ability to talk, to make any movements. A few hours later, a phenomenon began to appear that caused the students such torment that they abandoned this idleness. They developed visual and auditory hallucinations, as is usually only the case with intoxicated drugs or schizophrenics. The first three who abandoned the experiments after the first day reported colored mottled disks and squares that floated in front of blindfolds.Only one withstood the experience to the end, having spent more than five days in complete idleness. Most refused after 70-74 hours and returned to the audience. One survived 113 hours, and another 127 hours. "Further, the newspaper reports on the findings of Prof. Hebba: "The experiments were aimed at proving that boredom is a" disease ", amenable to scientific research, to which psychology did not pay due attention." And here is a statement about the same experiment by Canadian psychologist W. Geron: "The purpose of his research was to study the attitude of the brain, or rather, to find out its reaction in conditions when the experimental person is isolated from any impressions and experiences that could have a stimulating effect on the senses.Students were exposed for a per diem of $ 20 to the directed task of being lazy. They lay in a soft bed, located in a room isolated from noise, equipped with air conditioning. Glasses were put on their eyes, letting in only the flickering of milky light. Gloves and cardboard tubes were put on hands so that they could not perceive any external impressions. Students at first thought the experience was fun. The first hours they slept, but then after waking up they became more and more troubled. Little by little, inaction began to get on their nerves. At first they tried to whistle and sing for their own entertainment, and then tried to think about the tasks associated with their training. But most of these reflections failed. They could no longer focus their thoughts. Worse, they generally lost the ability to think. After some time, hallucinations appeared. They saw lines and patterns, then prehistoric animals, yellow people, mammoth fangs, transparent hands, giants, heard voices and sounds "(Frankishe Press, No. 239, 15-X-1954).These were the consequences of this "laziness", which lasted 6 days. Output? Take it from the same newspaper report: "The Canadian scientist has come to the conclusion that such a course of action, through dulling the senses, reduces the capacity for mental activity, which may be the cause of the so-called" affects ", which often appear in some lawsuits."We will demonstrate what important results are achieved if we decide to cultivate "laziness" or, more correctly, "relaxation, and reduce stress" to the end.
