About the Book

The story of Alina, the beautiful Franco-Italian, who was linked to that of Alain, who came from the southern hemisphere. The extraordinary tale of the life story of two Beings, real and authentic. It was a moment in time, as there were millions of them every year in one of the most beautiful regions of France, the green and extraordinarily lively Lorraine. Today absorbed in the immensity of a territorial redrawing now called Grand Est, but the memories are forever imperishable and doomed to remain for Eternity, beyond even the ignorance of the Universe. On Thursday, December 25, 1975 at eleven o'clock, on a foggy and cold morning, Christmas Day, it all began when we entered a bakery. He had no idea what was going to happen to him, all the more so as this very special day was nothing more than a simple banality resembling the previous ones, which seemed so ordinary to him. Indeed, having arrived from his native land, a land of France more than ten thousand kilometres from the Metropolis, Alain had never experienced the joys and joys of Christmas with his family. He had lived with his parents, brothers and sisters, enduring misery since his early childhood. A family of six, and unfortunately, despite his father's relentlessness in the sugar cane fields, the gentleness of his parents and the humble harmony that reigned there, there was no alternative to make up for this moment of pain that Christmas represented for a child, including his parents. So, on his seventeenth birthday, Alain had made a decision and put it into action. He gave up his studies and immediately signed up for the army. A few months later he landed in Nancy in a signals regiment, going from a temperature of +25 degrees twenty-four hours earlier to a new one, negative and well below zero. After a rapid acclimatisation of a few weeks, a month later he immediately understood, in real time, that destiny had just killed two birds with one stone, when his gaze crossed that of the beautiful, the magnificent, the sublime Franco-Italian. He was close to his eighteenth birthday and she was thirty-nine years old. He realised on the spot at the door of this bakery that it was the most beautiful Christmas he had ever known. It was Alina. Their eyes had crossed for probably three seconds, but it seemed like an eternity to him. He thought he suddenly saw in her eyes a kind of astonishment, of discovery, of the unexpected that we were no longer expecting, ... that we no longer hoped for. On the other hand, he had just had time to fade away, to allow him to go out more easily. Without being able to claim certainty, he seemed to be convinced all the same, having seen in his eyes filled with tenderness, happiness and purity the missing jubilation. Alain was overwhelmed and this state would last for another three months, until the Spring of the following year, 1976.He didn't know it that day, but he had just come across the unconditional Love of his life, the one that was to become his personified confidence, his thought, his reason for living and above all the one that was to bring him absolute happiness every day, as well as the remaining Christmas to come in his life. Alina was THE woman who was destined for her, probably and unexplained like all those facts that appear in our lives and which are inexplicable and inextricable.
