About the Book

If you like your Christian fiction contemporary and fluff-free, then you'll enjoy When the Poui Blooms.Malachi Williamson Junior, a deacon's son, is having his first taste of freedom on a campus on the Caribbean island of Jamaica where he's enrolled to study medicine. The entree is medicine, but orientation is all about the appetizers! And the choices before him are hard to ignore: friendship, sex, faith, foes... Nothing's off limits.Just ask the well-to-do British ballerina Megan Le Blanc whose eyes have Malachi forgetting things he's supposed to remember. Meanwhile, American Abigail Shaw has him dredging up things he'd rather forget.Haunted by a family tragedy, Malachi struggles to figure out which choices would move him closer to his goals and which could send him packing. But it's not always clear what those choices are, especially when the very people they affect are themselves keeping secrets.
About the Author: Natasha Coker Jones is the author of When the Poui Blooms. Natasha started her career as a staff reporter with the Trinidad Express Newspaper, one of the daily newspapers in her home country. Her editor at the time introduced a new beat called religion, and she was asked to take the lead on it. Natasha left mainstream media in 2001 to become the co-founder and managing director of a start-up called Upstream Publications Limited. Her first product was a lifestyle Christian magazine called Upstream. Over the years, Natasha has led the creative team which has produced marketing collateral to support the strategic communications objectives of companies, NGOs, and individuals. Natasha studied communications in Jamaica--the island that inspired the setting for her first novel. She credits her lecturers with watering her inclination toward entrepreneurship. Church on the other hand provided a forum for her to use her skills, talents, and abilities to express herself and impact lives. She's written and directed major productions for her home church in Trinidad. Writing fiction is an extension of Natasha's love for people and her desire to share stories that matter. This season in her life is about writing fiction and nonfiction and about helping more people from the Caribbean to achieve their publishing dreams. Natasha lives in Trinidad with her husband and son.
