About the Book

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

With this novel Carme Riera ends the cycle on converted Majorcan Jews started in her previous novel, En el último azul / The Last Deep Blue. The
protagonists in this story descend from Isabel Tarongí who died in the inquisition's brazier in 1691. The storyline transpires in the mid 19th Century in Cuba, where two sides of the Forteza family are forced to emigrate to.

Por el cielo y más allá is a story that combines a physchological tale and a historic novel; it is a disturbing parable where adventure and ambition have as much power as chance.
