About the Book

A truly inspirational guide to world exploration. Ponytail Tales, Paris, Tokyo, New York, London, Rome, Barcelona and Brussels are short stories, about the travels and adventures of a group of girls, known as the Ponytails, from Boden Hall School. These records have been expertly pieced together from recently discovered documents around the world as well as from school files and personal diaries, letters and graffiti. Unfortunately, some of the original papers were found in poor condition and not as many of these rare documents have survived as well as we would have liked and sadly a little detail has been lost resulting in some gaps in our knowledge. It has only been possible to verify the name of one Ponytail, for example, Catherine, although we were able to confirm Miss Balard was the teacher who led all the groups on trips for the school's mysterious benefactor, the Lady Boden. The stories help to introduce the excitement of world cities as well as their languages and attractions. The first ever trip is to Paris where the group of Ponytails see the sights and meet local characters and their many pets as well as brushing with the native wildlife, visiting markets and trying the local food. As far as we have been able to tell, after exploring the Ponytails would habitually return home to Boden Hall for a traditional pillow fight before settling down to swot and their next adventure. If only our records were a bit clearer so we could get a bit nearer to knowing what really went on but this is what we have right or wrong. By restoring these papers, it has been possible to create an invaluable travel companion for young people one story at a time. More documentation is always being discovered and although it is not possible to hurry the scientific processes, it may be possible to present more Ponytail Tales in the future.

For some time, restorers and researchers have been putting certain restored documents to one side as they could not confirm their exact location with any certainty. These documents have been stored in a separate archive in the Office for Doubtful Documents under the title, "Odd Job". Although it has not always been possible to verify the locations it has now been decided to place these records alongside the Ponytail Tales files as it is considered likely they at least happened at the same time as the Ponytails' travels. Thank you for your understanding.
