Examensarbeit aus dem Jahr 2015 im Fachbereich Geschichte Europa - and. Länder - Mittelalter, Frühe Neuzeit, Note: 1,0, Technische Universität Darmstadt (Institut für Mittelalterliche Geschichte), Veranstaltung: -, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Das Basler Konzil (1431-1449) wurde aus Sicht einiger zeitgenössischer Kleriker als unheilvolle Synergie wahrgenommen, die innerhalb der Forschung bisher noch kaum aufgegriffen und untersucht wurde. Ausgehend von den Ereignissen um Worms 1431/1432, droht ein mögliches Zusammengehen aller deutschen Bauern mit dem sich - auch auf deutschem Boden - ausbreitenden Hussitismus. Bruneti, der in seinem Brief an das Domkapitel zu Arras nicht nur über seine Reise nach Basel und die Ereignisse und Zustände im und um das Konzil berichtet, erwähnt jenen Bauernaufstand in der Gegend um Worms, den er als die Ursache allen - möglichen - zukünftigen Übels prophezeit. Laut Bruneti richtet sich dieser Aufstand zwar in erster Linie gegen die beiden Machtpole des spätmittelalterlichen Reiches, dem Klerus und dem Adel. Interessanter erscheint mir jedoch die Tatsache, dass Bruneti dem Bauernaufstand in Worms in erster Linie keinen ökonomischen, sondern vielmehr einen sozial-revolutionären und vor allem ideologischen Hintergrund zuschreibt. Angesichts dieser zeitgenössischen Ansicht, in der die Furcht vor einer Ausbreitung des Hussitismus stark war und sich auch auf die Politik des Basler Konzils auswirkte, erscheint es überaus überraschend, dass innerhalb der historischen Forschung die Akte um die Hintergründe dieses Wormser Bauernaufstandes, der sich 1431/1432 ereignet hat, oft mit dem Hinweis auf die sozioökonomische Not der Bauern in und um Worms geschlossen wird. Dass viele Historiker die ökonomische Misslage in den Mittelpunkt ihrer Ursachenforschung rücken, bietet zwar angesichts der Krise des Spätmittelalters einen sicheren Argumentationsanker, liefert jedoch nur einen Teilausschnitt der komplex(er)en Wahrheit.
