• "The present book, which opens a world anthology collection of poetry, originates from the value of the initiative Poem of the Week - Poetry without Borders, set up more than ten years ago by the cosmopolitan poet, translator and publisher of international poetry Germain Droogenbroodt, is much better understood. A weekly poem that would reach billions of people around the world simultaneously, in more than 30 languages. And that it would also do so in the language of each reader so that they could appreciate, and at the same time incorporate, the emotional and aesthetic nuances (rhythm, rhyme, images, symbols, etc.) of other poets from such diverse cultures and/or civilizations, always with the mediation of the person who has translated the text in order to bring it as close as possible to its addressees. We are also well aware that translating is recreating, not just trans-cribing and adapting, and therefore a creative exercise in itself, which gives a specific slant to each of the versions of the original text. So that the poem, in its translation into each language, also becomes "creation, erect poetry", as Octavio Paz said. [...] After reading this selection of such varied origins, one feels that we all belong to the same common space, to that which can be seen beyond all the "forts and frontiers" in the expression of Juan de Yepes. This is also expressed in the poem by Luis Cruz-Villalobos, with which this volume opens: we are all truly "a single poem without frontiers." • "El presente libro, que abre una colección de antología mundial de poesía, se origina a partir de "El poema de la semana - Poesía sin Fronteras", iniciativa del poeta con fama internacional Germain Droogenbroodt, traductor y editor de poesía contemporánea a nivel mundial. Se han publicado ya más de 745 poemas. Un poema semanal que llegase simultáneamente, en más de 30 idiomas, a miles de millones de personas en todo el mundo. Y que lo hiciese además en la lengua de cada lector para que apreciase, y a la vez incorporase, los matices emotivos y estéticos (ritmo, rima, imágenes, símbolos, etc.) de otros y otras poetas de culturas y/o civilizaciones tan diversas, siempre con la mediación de quien ha traducido el texto para acercarlo lo más posible a sus destinatarios. Muy conscientes además de que traducir es recrear, no solo transcribir y adaptar, y por tanto un ejercicio creador en sí mismo que aporta un sesgo específico a cada una de las versiones del texto original. Para que así el poema, en su traducción a cada lengua, también llegue a ser "creación, poesía erguida", como dijera Octavio Paz.
