A collection of poetry, quotes and muses; some famous, some not so famous and some as yet unknown. This is the second " Poetry and Muses By Ladonna" book to be published by this author. The next volume, vol. 3, should be available by late 2016.
About the Author: Ladonna Atherley was born and raised in Sothern California but does not consider herself a "Californian". She moved around quite a bit both as a child and as an adult and has resided in over a dozen different cities. At 44, she says she is still growing up and trying to find herself and her place in this world. Ladonna is now residing in Arizona and loving it. She also says she hasn't decided what she wants to be when she grows up and has changed educational goals and professions numerous times. Ladonna has held positions in various fields ranging from waitressing and cooking, to animal control officer and truck driver. She has also worked in sales, education and fast food. She was a direct care worker for developmentally disabled, an in home health aid and a surgical scrub nurse. She's done everything from pizza delivery to lawn and garden care, child care to house keeping. She has been a cashier for numerous retail stores and even sold fire extinguishers door to door. At present, Ladonna works as a cab driver for a local cab company. She says she loves what she does, but is continuing her education in the field of social work and peer support for addicts in recovery. At one time, she considered a career in education and wanted to teach a class in American myths and urban legends at the high school and college levels. As a recovering addict herself though, she believes her abilities in communication along with her life experiences would make her a great drug and alcohol counselor. Ladonna finds writing, especially poetry, very therapeutic and has also written an auto-biography that goes in depth into those life experiences. Ladonna has done a lot of living in her 44 years. She was abused physically; both as a child and as an adult. She ran away from home several times as a youngster and was always referred to as a problem child. She is diagnosed bi-polar schizo-effective with a borderline personality disorder and has been hospitalized more times than she can count for depression. In her more seriously depressed episodes, Ladonna has attempted suicide several times. She says she should probably be dead a dozen times over but that by the grace of God she made it through those very tough bouts. She believes she has found her higher power and that there is a reason, yet unknown to her, that she lived. Ladonna was married twice before, but believes that she has now, finally found the love of her life and soul mate. For more, check out "It's All About Me".
