About the Book

This is a book of Poetry that can be read in the presence of the entire family. "Poetically Correct from Ground to Glory" is a compilation of various pieces of poetry that was inspired to be written for various occasions and individuals. It varies in genre and style inclusive of a short story, a poetic puzzle and even a glossary. Regardless of your theological perspective you will be challenged to explore the facts and scriptural references. "The Poet Joel" professes to speak truth to the best of his knowledge and state facts based on the public information available at that time.
About the Author: The-Poet-Joel was born and raised in Brooklyn, the youngest of seven children, nurtured in a two parent home until the age of 16, when he suffered the loss of my mother. Confused, frustrated and immature he moved from his father's house at the age of 17, two months after graduating High School. Working and going to college, but still not complete or satisfied, he began an unusual method of seeking God. He physically went through several types of religious organizations and denominations, asking each one to meet the leader, because he wanted to know what was being taught as opposed to what a congregate attendee might have learned. A brief depiction of that journey is coined in a poem entitled "Looking for God Elementary". Through a stringent process of elimination he arrived at his last stop "The Morning Star Highway Church of Christ inc" a small Apostolic church where the Founder and Pastor is "Bishop W.P. Dove". Unable to refute his wise teaching, he joined. He was surrounded by the most talented musicians, singers and preachers that he had ever seen or heard. He wanted to express his self like them but could only dabble and babble. The only noticeable strength he had was a sound understanding and love for God's Word. He began to write, but feeling inadequate, kept it to him self. One day a "curious" person peered at some notes he had written and brought it to the attention of the pastor, who simply said "let the Lord have His way; for God will use anyone who is willing". In 1999 he was nominated "Poet of the year" by the "National Poets Society" in 2000 they published him internationally. He has since obtained "Founding Laureate status and was nominated as a U.S. Ambassador for the "International Poets Society" and have been placed on their 1st audio "sound of Poetry" in 49 countries. While there area lot of life's experience that are relative variables, only one is absolute. God filled him with his spirit and anointed him to write, he is now willing to be obedient and use this gift. He is an ordained Deacon and currently serves as the Sunday School Superintendent at the Morning Star Highway Church of Christ under the leadership of Bishop Designate Darrell K. Dove Sr.
