"A fundamental edition that celebrates the works of one of the most emblematic Colombian poets and winner of 2018 Federico Garcia Lorca International Poetry Award.

An inescapable approach to Darío Jaramillo's poetry, which stands out for its renewal of themes like love, feelings, and intimacy, and one in which silence, music, and time are the central themes. Awarded the Federico Garcia Lorca International Poetry Award for the entirety of his work, the Jury highlighted the importance of sense of humor in his pieces and his approach to Latin American popular song.

This book includes a selection of over one hundred and fifty of the author's poems that includes the best of his work, from Historias / Stories (1974), to El cuerpo y otra cosa / The Body and Other Things (2017); a book for which he won the National Poetry Prize in 2017 granted by the Ministry of Culture of Colombia; as well as some unpublished poems.


About the Author: Nació en Santa Rosa de Osos (Antioquia, Colombia) en 1947. Ha publicado los libros de poesía Historias (1974), Tratado de retórica (1978), Poemas de amor (1986), Del ojo a la lengua (1995), Cantar por cantar (2001), Gatos (2005), Cuadernos de música (2008), Sólo el azar (2011) y El cuerpo y otra cosa (2017) con el que obtuvo el Premio Nacional de Poesía 2017 que otorga el Ministerio de Cultura de Colombia; las novelas: La muerte de Alec (1983), Cartas cruzadas (1995), El juego del alfiler (2002), Novela con fantasma (2004), La voz interior (2006), Memorias de un hombre feliz (2010) e Historia de Simona (2011); el libro en prosa Guía para viajeros (1991); el texto autobiográfico Historia de una pasión (2006); el ensayo Poesía en la canción popular latinoamericana (2008) y un Diccionadario (2014). Es el antologador del libro Antología de crónica latinoamericana actual (Alfaguara, 2012).
