Poesía "calaveril" para un público infantil es un conjunto de poemas inspirados por la celebración del "Día de muertos" en México. Con divertidas ilustraciones, el libro trata de explicar el significado de este día para gran parte del pueblo mexicano. El contenido está en blanco y negro y tonos grises para lograr un contraste más interesante en las imágenes. Incluye también, como es costumbre en los libros de los Alemán, una última sección con vocabulario utilizado en la obra. El libro se recomienda para niños en educación bilingüe, preferentemente a partir del tercer grado. Sin embargo, varios de los poemas bien pudieran utilizarse con niños en grados menores si los maestros explican el vocabulario, el cual no es muy complicado. Particularmente, pueden leerse con niños en primer o segundo grado los poemas que invitan a los niños a repasar los números y el concepto del conteo ("Cuenta la calavera" y "De dos en dos"), los poemas que hablan de estados de ánimo ("La calaca está enojada" "Se sonríe la calavera" y "Las calaveras se ponen moradas"), o los poemas que hablan de actividades ("Dos calaveras", "¿Dónde están las calaveras?", "De mañana a noche", "Esqueletos con bastón" o "La calavera Méndez"). About the Author: Manuel Alemán es educador, escritor, ensayista y poeta, autor de los libros de poesía y rimas para niños "¡Aquí están las calaveras!
