About the Book

Jose Danilo Paz ( mi padre) nacio en una finca de cafe llamada " el Jicaral " juridiccion de San Jose de Colinas Santa Barbara, Honduras, un 24 de Abril de 1940. Fue el noveno hijo de Don Medardo Florentino y el tercero de Doña Juanita Paz. En su niñez vivio en el campo, rodeado de muchos niños, cortadores de cafe, mozos y trabajadores de mi abuelo Medardo, Mecanicos, albañilez, carpinteros, etc, de los cuales mi papa aprendio un poco de todos esos oficios. De niña siempre escuchaba de mi padre anecdotas e historias de la gente de esa epoca, de la familia y de su niñez.Todo ese ambiente hizo de El, un hombre amante de su familia, una persona carismatica, con mucha imaginacion y sentido del humor, por sus conocimientos llego a ser un buen patron, tanto en el tema del cultivo de cafe, como en otras ciencias. Amante de la lectura, siempre estaba al dia en el tema de la politica nacional e internacional, se sabia de memoria tantas poesias, que siempre me sorprendia con una nueva. No era muy dado al trabajo fisico, era un ser pensante y le gustaba ser el jefe, algo habia en su personalidad que mis hermanos y yo siempre lo tratamos como si fuera un Rey. La mayor parte de su vida vivio en Pinalejo, Santa Barbara un pueblito al occidente de Honduras que el llego a amar. Por problemas de salud, en el 2002 tubo que trasladarse a vivir a la ciudad de Cleveland Ohio, donde fue sometido a dos cirugias de corazon abierto, tratamiento de dialisis, y dos amputaciones. Su vida en los ultimos años no fueron faciles, yo lo cuide y estube mas cerca de El, y llegue adescubrir muchos lados de su vida que no conocia, descubri un ser maravilloso, lleno de fe y esperanza, con un inmenso amor sobre todo por sus hijos, descubri que la paciencia van de mano con la sabiduria, la serenidad y la tranquilidad de nuestras almas. Paso por muchas pruebas dolorosas, pero El nunca se quejo, siempre dio gracias a Dios por lo que tenia, nunca perdio su encanto, ni su buen humor. Mi papa fallecio el 22 de mayo del 2010, se fue en paz en medio de besos y caricias de sus tres hijas. esta año en su tercer aniversario de fallecido, quiero como un homenaje publicar sus poesias, tal vez no sean todas, pero las que pude recopilar en los ultimos tiempos, fue una promesa, siempre le dije que me gustaria hacer esto.
