Pocket Full of Victories Victories is for all the Tanekis of this world. It is for the seekers, the undecided - the ones who feel the tug of God, calling them into an intimate, more committed relationship but the fear of change - fear of the unknown keeps them chained to the familiar. It is for lost souls trying desperately to find their way to a life filled with purpose, love and passion. It is for everyone who attends church on a weekly basis but leaves without having a true, life-changing encounter with the Creator of the universe and without having a real understanding of what it means to be a child of God.
Part memoir, part guide, sprinkled with humor and filled with passion, it is a deeply personal tale of a spiritual tug-of-war between a woman with her own "plans" and a God who had His own plans for her. In this book, author Taneki Dacres recounts her journey from her way to God's way. She shares her trials and struggles, as well as her honest thoughts on what she thought Christianity was, and why she wanted no part of it. Ms. Dacres fills each "pocket" with her own testimony, and in it she addresses some of the major issues that keep us from completely surrendering to God and prevent us from truly experiencing the richly victorious life that comes from developing an intimate relationship with Him. In it you will discover:
- Why our "good works" does not qualify us to enter the pearly white gates
- Why your past is forgiven and why you are worthy of God's love and grace
- Why perfection is not a requirement
- Who you are and whose you are
- That forgiveness is the key that unlocks the shackles
- How to conquer the battle of the mind
- Why perceived delays does not mean denial and how to fight the good fight of faith
- What it means to be anointed and how to activate the anointing for greatness
- How to pray effective prayers and engage gratitude and praise for victory
- And so much more!
About the Author: Taneki Dacres is an Author, Entrepreneur, Spiritual Life Coach and Motivational Speaker. A graduate of Bernard Baruch College of the City University of New York, Ms. Dacres is the author of Pocket Full of Victories, published August 2012. She holds a baccalaureate degree in Computer Information Systems and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity, with a specialization in Pastoral Care and Counseling, from New York Theological Seminary. She has had several entrepreneurial ventures under her belt, including the Co-Founder and Editor of an online publication, Molasis Magazine and Subway Sandwich Shop franchise owner.
Ms. Dacres' grew up in a non-religious household. Her family believed in God but church attendance was not mandatory and generally reserved for the holidays. Her life and relationship with the Creator dramatically changed after a series of life-altering events between 2009 and 2010. It was during that period that after undergoing an eight-hour surgery, she lost consciousness, stopped breathing, transitioned into the presence of God and encountered "the Light." This experience left an indelible mark on her life and by the end of the year 2010, she surrendered to the call of God.
Today, Ms. Dacres is the Founder of The Vine Publishing, Inc., a New York City based boutique publishing company. Her desire is not simply to motivate others - she believes that everyone has the ability to motivate someone else - but as a Spiritual Life Coach she is concerned with the condition of one's heart, soul and spirit. Her job is to minister to the spirits of the broken, lost, hurt and misunderstood members of society. It is to reach the seekers, and to educate the misinformed - clearing up many of the misconceptions that kept her away and keep many from fully surrendering to the Creator. She is considered a spiritual midwife, gently assisting in the birthing of healing, joy, passion and purpose - all of which are the offspring of a committed, intimate relationship with God.
