About the Book

In sports, every athlete learns early on how to "play hurt" (definition: A injured player who plays through his or her injury). Playing hurt separated good athletes from great athletes. Similar to sports, many times in ministry the pastor must "play hurt!" He does not have the liberty to take time to heal, much like the franchise player on a professional team. The only difference between a pastor and a franchise player is that the owners of the organization understand how valuable the franchise player is and wouldn't risk him being injured, hurt or possibly falling to a career ending collision. One would think that the church, his family, friends and loved ones would take a page out of the NBA or NFL owner's manual and protect the franchise player. Who is the franchise player? The Pastor. Playing Hurt invites you into eight very difficult years of my life when God used discouragement, death, and depression to prepare me for a ministry beyond my wildest dreams. This book will encourage the senior pastor, prepare the young preacher, strengthen the church leader, and motivate the pew member to understand that life hurts and sometimes ministry hurts even more. And yet through it all God has not left you alone. Keep pressing!
About the Author: eron V. Gaddis is the founder of Pastor G Ministries. He is the current pastor of Greater Bethel Church in Oklahoma City, OK. Pastor G (as he is affectionately called) has been in the ministry for 35 years and pastoring for 26 years. He is married to Janice for thirty-one years and together they have 5 children and 10 grandchildren. Pastor G is known for his biblical preaching and teaching with soul-stirring illustrations that make his Bible studies and sermons understandable for both the young and old. Pastor G Ministries was birthed because of his heart for other pastors. In 2014, he began the ministry, "Praying for our Pastors," to encourage pastors to "run with endurance the race set before them." (Hebrews 12:1) Through Pastor G Ministries he has written three books...Praying for our Pastors, WE WIN, WE WIN 31 Day Devotional and Small Group Study Guide. The mission statement of Pastor G Ministries is "changing lives one verse at a time."
