Paola is a very energetic mom to a lovely boy. Originally from Brazil, Paola moved to Canada in her mid 20s to finish her degree in Environmental Studies. She was inspired to write this story after her own experience moving to a new country and dealing with self doubt. Paola loves being creative and using her vibrant imagination to entertain and inspire children from all cultural backgrounds.
Having created her own publishing company - Creative Capybara - in 2023, she's excited to continue sharing her stories with readers for years to come.

Evelyn Fichmann was born in São Paulo, Brazil. In 2016, she decided to brave the cold and move to Vancouver, Canada, with her family.
Evelyn is a designer by trade and, over the last few years, she has combined her professional talent with her passion for children's literature. She believes there is no better way to tell a story than through the power of images. As an illustrator, she navigates worlds filled with colour and fun where anything is possible!
Evelyn is also the author and illustrator of "Nina, the Chameleon Girl" and "Who is taking my place?".
