About the Book

Perhaps an unofficial title for my work should be the following: Save Your Soul, Yourself! Christ, Buddha and other righteous types did that in person. Writing books to do that is a serious no-no. By definition, I will either fail to properly communicate the truth in written word or you will fail to properly process it. Even if you speak the language and I did an OK enough job, there are still the issues of time and perception. Public perception of my works may still be inconsequential. Thus, no "Ten Commandments" type of word, no matter how true, will help you retain the wisdom. Time will matter, because, let's face it. All cults get squashed or find themselves melded into the mainstream. We can be happy, you and my works. In fact, my works can lead you to that happy state until your final day on Earth. When do you read? This book was written for your benefit, not mine. The primary selfish motivation was in producing a work to equal or surpass those that I have read in the past. Works of art have the ability to expand minds. And yet the lifting of those minds could be to higher forms of prisons. What many modern agnostics and atheists tend to say to believers is that "God", as a believer perceives, does not exist. They like to say that the stories and ideas you learned when you grew up are not reality. They like to insist that there are things that you do not know about religion, specifically Abrahamic religion, that would lead you to atheism. Yet, even if this was true, it does not mean that God does not exist. In fact, if you continue to witness that some ideas that you have about the world are imperfect, then you will be going on a journey of Truth that will certainly confirm God's existence if you continue it. Now many people have perspectives on what God is. Perhaps everyone has a unique picture of who He is. But is it important for me to define what God is for you, or even me? I have done this in the past and have found that it is not the best way to communicate the Truth. Some things you need to learn for yourself. And my hope in writing this book is that it can help serve as a guidepost for that process. You may find that it helps you with other issues in your life. However, that is not the goal. There are a variety of issues that people face in life and even more methods to solve them. These words do not replace any of the texts you read as a child. Perhaps they will help you see them in a better light. At times, these words can resonate with anyone, yet they are most appropriate for Christians. Many of the passages in this book come from the New Testament and my hope is that the wisdom that guided Christ and other prophets of God will be able to help you along your journey, whether you started as a Christian, atheist or something else entirely. As a disclaimer, there is a section on Buddhism as well. Despite differences in scripture and practitioners, Christ defeated Satan while Buddha achieved Enlightenment. Both connected with that ancient human wisdom. If you subscribe to another religion or are one of the aforementioned atheists, then there is still value to be gained from reading this book. If anything, it could bring you a satisfaction and happiness that someone who met Jesus Christ must have felt during His day. Now there are many people who use the name and words of Christ for their own purposes. I have done my best to ensure that none of their ideas weeded their way into this book. This book is not intended for those who have never picked up a Bible before. It is for those who have deferred to others who thump the Bible in less godly ways. Let these words bring you closer to God and free you from the Deceiver. Let them be as the wisdom of the Ancients presented by Moses and Jesus. And as always, everything should be taken with a grain of salt...
About the Author: Erik Batoog is a man who has been through a lot in life. But despite it all, he tries to keep a childlike mind, ready to creatively deal with current challenges and those on the horizon. He spent far more than enough years in school to write this book. Studying a variety of subjects including literature, theology, language, history, economics, psychology and philosophy, Erik enjoyed much of his time in academics. Some of his favorite pastimes have included throwing a piece of cork wrapped in cowhide as fast as possible past people holding sticks, making dents in large leather containers of sand, expressing himself artistically, enjoying others expressing themselves artistically and searching for a Grail ready to be filled with clean water.
