Die vorliegende Arbeit setzte sieh die AufkHirung gewisser fundamentaler Gesetzmassigkeiten des menschlichen Bewusstseins und ihrer begriffiiehen Fassung zur Auf gabe. Mit dem als Motto gewahlten Zitat aus den Logischen Unter suchungen solI diese Aufgabe weder als die alleinige noeh als die vor dringliehste der Philosophie ausgegeben werden. Wer rnoehte das in der heutigen Zeit behaupten! Mit dem Motto sollen allein Ansprueh und Grenzen der Untersuehung angezeigt werden. Dlese Arbeit lag dem Institut Superieur de Philosophie der Universi tat Lowen (Belgien) im November I970 als Doktoratsthese vor. Fur den Druck wurden nur geringfiigige Aenderungen vorgenommen. Berm Prof. H. L. Van Breda, Direktor des Husserl-Arehivs in Lowen, habe ieh fiir die Leitung und Forderung zu danken, die er mir bei der Ausarbeitung der Dissertation zukommen liess, sowie fiir den VIII VORWORT grosszugig gewtlhrten Zugang zu Husserls Manuskripten, dessen Pri vatbibliothek und den wissenschaftlichen Apparat des Archivs."
