In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird die Rolle untersucht, die bestimmte Personlichkeitseigenschaften im Rahmen des Informationsaustausch-Dilemmas spielen. In diesem Dilemma hat sich Group Awareness, die durch Informationen uber hoch kooperative Gruppenmitglieder entsteht, als einflussreich erwiesen. In der hier berichteten Studie wird untersucht, wie Personen mit unterschiedlichen Auspragungen in bestimmten Personlichkeitsmerkmalen jeweils auf verschiedene Varianten dieser Group Awareness reagieren. Dabei zeigt sich unter anderem, dass Personen mit einer geringen Auspragung in zwischenmenschlichem Vertrauen durch ein Feedback uber hoch kooperative Mitarbeiter ihr Vertrauen in die anderen steigern und genauso kooperativ werden, wie Personen, die aufgrund ihrer Personlichkeitsstruktur von Grund auf mehr Vertrauen in ihre Mitmenschen besitzen. Dies zeigt, dass Vertrauen ein wichtiger Gesichtspunkt der Wirkungsweise von Group Awareness ist. Wissen die beteiligten Personen, dass nicht nur sie selbst sehen konnen, wie die anderen sich im Durchschnitt verhalten, sondern dass das Verhalten jedes einzelnen Gruppenmitglieds - also auch ihr eigenes - identifizierbar ist, dann beginnen die Personen, die von ihrer Personlichkeit her ein hohes Bedurfnis nach Selbstdarstellung besitzen, sich besonders kooperativ zu verhalten. Fehlt jedoch diese Identifizierbarkeit des eigenen Verhaltens, dann verhalt sich genau diese Personengruppe sogar besonders unkooperativ. Die Moglichkeit zur Selbstdarstellung scheint folglich eine weitere wichtige Funktion von Group Awareness zu sein. Zusammenfassend zeigt sich die hier vorgeschlagene Vorgehensweise, Erkenntnisse uber die Eigenschaften und Wirkungsweisen von Group Awareness im Informationsaustausch-Dilemma zu erlangen, indem erfasst wird, wie sich Personen mit bestimmten Eigenschaften im Umgang mit Awareness-Informationen verhalten, als sehr effizient. Ein vergleichbares Vorgehen kann auch fur andere medienpsychologische Fragestellungen empfohlen werden.
