Zu den Herausforderungen zählen vor allem die Folgen, die sich aus dem demografischen Wandel ergeben. Die Generation der geburtenstarken Jahrgänge tritt demnächst in das Rentenalter ein und es stehen geburtenschwächere Jahrgänge zur Verfügung, um die offenen Stellen zu besetzen. Es müssen Lösungen gefunden werden, um diese Kluft schließen zu können. Weiterhin befasst sich diese Seminararbeit mit dem Problem des Qualifikationsdefizites des Nachwuchses. Die Anforderungen in der Arbeitswelt werden zunehmend komplexer und verlangen deshalb nach einer geeigneten Qualifizierung der Arbeitskräfte. Leider werden Potentiale des ohnehin geringer werdenden Nachwuchses nicht immer ausreichend genutzt und so entsteht ein Fachkräftemangel. Die Unternehmen mit der steigenden Anzahl von zu besetzenden Stellen begeben sich in einen Kampf um den weniger werdenden qualifizierten Nachwuchs. Das Ziel der Arbeit ist die Erläuterung der oben dargestellten Probleme und das Aufzeigen von möglichen Lösungsansätzen - beziehungsweise Lösungsstrategien - wie Unternehmen ihren Personalbedarf decken und sich im Wettbewerb um qualifizierte Mitarbeiter behaupten können. Das Instrument der Employer Brand, der Arbeitgebermarke, ist eine effektive Maßnahme um dieses Vorhaben zu erreichen.
