Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich Sozialwissenschaften allgemein, Note: 2,0, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Wenn man die Diskussionen in den Medien, den Parteien und der politisch interessierten Öffentlichkeit beobachtet, kann man den Eindruck bekommen, dass Personen in der Politik mittlerweile die mit Abstand wichtigste Rolle spielen und entscheidend zum Wahlerfolg beitragen. Ob dem wirklich so ist und wie der Einfluss der Personen sich ausdrückt, möchte ich in meiner Arbeit genauer untersuchen. Die Grundfrage der Arbeit ist, wie sich Personalisierung im Rahmen von Wahlkampfstrategien ausdrückt und wie erfolgreich der Einsatz dieser Strategieart ist. Meine These ist, dass heutzutage hauptsächlich Personalisierungs-Strategien durchgeführt werden und diese in großem Ausmaß zum Wahlergebnis beitragen. Zunächst gehe ich kurz darauf ein, wie Strategie in der Politik angewandt wird, um dann genauer Wahlkämpfe zu betrachten. Dabei geht es darum, wie Parteien Wahlkämpfe ausgestalten und welche Rolle Personen dabei spielen. Ich möchte mich dabei auf die beiden Großparteien CDU/CSU und SPD konzentrieren, was einerseits dem Umfang der Arbeit geschuldet ist und andererseits darin begründet liegt, dass normalerweise diese beiden Parteien um die Kanzlerschaft kämpfen und sich hier Personalisierung am stärksten manifestiert. Der theoretische Teil soll deutlich machen, dass Wahlkampfstrategien sich heute aus zahlreichen Facetten zusammensetzen, von denen Personalisierungselemente nur ein Teil sind. Im empirischen Teil blicke ich auf zwei Fallbeispiele, um die Anwendung und Auswirkungen von personalisierter politischer Strategie zu untersuchen. Als Beispiele dienen die Bundestagswahlkämpfe von 2005 und 2009, da diese sich in der strategischen Ausrichtung der Parteien unterscheiden und die aktuellsten Beispiele darstellen. Die Messung der Personalisierung soll über eine Betrachtung der Spitzenkandidaten stattfinden. Dazu analysiere ich die Wahl
