About the Book

Human Revolution, a process of individual transformation in the depths of one's life, is a term first used by Soka Gakkai 2nd President Josei Toda. Poems from the Heart of a Buddhist Sociologist in Spokane Washington. An excerpt from Personal Truth 1975 - 2010: ***A Matter of Social Policy I want to contribute to building A future world peace. Those who think this way Are the only future We can count on - To have an understanding Of the miracle of life In a universe We can comprehend With our own lives. In view of the future That we can envision - We must understand the major theories Behind our social policies Or in our near future. When we face the consequences Of our current social pressures, we will understand What is needed toward the best future for all of us. As a society, are we willing to develop the cumulative and compassionate power of our universal spirituality to reveal each person's intrinsic potential? Or do we remain At the limits of secular beliefs And limit our perception of life? I believe That Buddhism has discovered A Mystic Law that is the source of our human existence ...And our capacity to influence the future! Whereas, In a non-existent universe, Could we as a society ask the question, "What is the total reality of all possibilities " 1999
About the Author: Sunny J Mika, M.A., 2003 Graduate of Gonzaga University, is a native of a small city-which has since become a busy metropolis-in the Pacific Northwest. She has pursued her interests in Sociology; Communication; & Buddhism (sgi-usa.org). Ms. Mika is the director of a new Mainstream Community Media Model of News and Information. This mainstream media will be launched in Spokane Washington. The pre-launch phase of this socially responsible media can be studied at www.spokaneflashnews.webs.com. Throughout 2010, preliminary themes and articles will become available at this website. Ms. Mika is a sociologist who believes that everyone is a potential visionary. From her own experience, she believes that children see the world as it is, though uncomprehendingly; yet rote memory skills have distracted children from learning what is most important to them. "I have a vision." Poems about 'the heart of the matter' is the beginning of my social vision. "I made a vow." Every day I ask myself: what am I willing to do for World Peace today? "I have achieved what I set out to achieve." A socially responsible media model is being constructed behind the scenes for the communities of our times. "I know what my mission is." I will publish my interpretations concerning what the Buddha has done for this world!
