About the Book

This coloring book story shares that when verbal, physical, or virtual hostility, is projected upon someone, damaging and lasting emotional issues can occur. The repercussions can affect both the bully and the bullied. Intervention and involvement are imperative to reduce cruel behavior and it's lasting effect. Perry tries to understand why people behave the way they do. The children in the school community each respond differently when faced with verbal or physical attacks against themselves or others. The conversations Perry has with his parents help him figure out how to cope and manage conflict. Perry and his friends come to some conclusions about what should be done when someone, or a group of people, act out violently against others. By acquiring coping skills and having support from compassionate people, young people and adults can navigate more happily through challenging times. PERRY'S FRIENDS will offer strategies for coping with rejection and bullying. Open communication about issues, with people who can help, will make a significant difference in the developing child's life.Perry's Friends is #5 in the Our Life Skills serieswww.OurLifeSkills.com
About the Author: As a coach and parent, who also collaborated with 'at-risk' students in writing and performing numerous inspirational original plays, Suzy Chase-Motzkin understands the need for helping children and their families learn how to reframe thinking and cope with the challenges they are facing. Suzy is deeply committed to the research of human development, consciousness, motivation, the use of language, and the power of the mind regarding performance and healing. Discovering many effective modalities, she put into practice the concepts while raising her own children and coaching others. Her methodologies proved to be very powerful in elevating self-esteem, reducing stress, and helping children (and many adults) realize their potential. Suzy was inspired to write stories that would teach people life skills by engaging the reader and imparting conventional wisdom surreptitiously. In an effort to hold the young reader's attention, she committed to making an illustration for each page of text. Her mother, a prolific artist who held a Master of Fine Art, encouraged Suzy to illustrate the stories herself. With her mother cheering her on, Suzy grabbed a pencil and paper and began. Initially, so much time was spent erasing lines to get the perspective right that she switched to using a graphics program on the computer, where fixing her mistakes was far less time consuming. When not coaching or creating, Suzy continues to share her gifts as a healer, teacher, and writer by presenting seminars nationally and internationally.
