Inhaltsangabe: Zusammenfassung: Die Entwicklung des deutschen Bankgewerbes wurde während der letzten Jahre durch das verstärkte Renditebewußtsein und die steigende Risikobereitschaft zahlreicher Privatkunden geprägt, die zunehmend in Aktien und Aktienfonds investierten. Angesichts einer immer umfangreicheren und unübersichtlicheren Palette von Aktienfonds sollen Fonds-Rankings eine Hilfestellung bei der Anlageentscheidung bieten. In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden am Beispiel von Technologiefonds verschiedene Fonds-Rankings und ihr theoretischer Hintergrund untersucht. Dies dient dem Zweck, ein Verfahren zur Ableitung von Fonds-Ranglisten zu entwickeln, das einen höheren Informationswert für Privatanleger besitzt als die herkömmlichen standardisierten Ranking-Methoden. Die Semesterarbeit als Grundlage der Diplomarbeit führt zunächst in die Methoden der Performancemessung ein (Benchmark-Definition, Rendite-, Risiko- und Performancemaße). Zudem werden vier in Deutschland gängige Fondsranglisten (Onvista, Standard & Poor's Fund Services, Feri Trust, Finanztest) und ihre Bewertungskriterien dargestellt. In der Diplomarbeit werden aus einer Darstellung der Stärken und Schwächen dieser Ranking-Methoden Ansatzpunkte für mögliche Verbesserungen abgeleitet.(2. Kapitel) Um die prognostische Aussagekraft von Fonds-Rankings zu erhöhen, sollte jeweils im einzelnen untersucht werden, worauf die in der Vergangenheit erzielte Wertentwicklung eines Fonds beruht. Dies läßt sich mit den Verfahren der Performance-Attribution analysieren, die kurz im Überblick dargestellt werden. (3. Kapitel) Am Beispiel von fünf Technologie-Fonds wird eine Performance-Attribution durchgeführt, die auf die Anwendung quantitativer Methoden weitgehend verzichtet und im wesentlichen aus den Anlagestrategien der einzelnen Fonds Schlußfolgerungen zieht. (4. Kapitel) Im letzten Teil der Arbeit (5. Kapitel) schlägt die Verfasserin eine selbst entwickelte Ranking-Methode vor, die insbesondere auch aus der
