About the Book

Raja Ravi Varma: India’s most celebrated painter Raja Ravi Varma countered that he saw divinity in both gods and humans, and that nudity was the purest form he knew. He grew up making charcoal sketches on freshly
white washed temple walls and went on to be titled in the court of Thiruvananthapuram as ‘Raja’ for his artistic prowess.
Farewell, Mahatma: The stories in Farewell, Mahatma explore the dark and dichotomous realities of our history and present, deeply probing themes such as freedom, need, desire and the volatile spaces between man and woman.
The Vigil: The Vigil tells the turbulent tale of Angadan, who believes that Raman killed his father Vali against all principles of dharma.
The Music of Solitude: Krishna Sobti paints a striking portrait of changing times and the story of a beautiful romance that thrives on companionship in The Music of Solitude.
14: Fourteen is a beautiful collection of tales Satyajit Ray transformed into fi lms, which have endured and become classics we all love and admire.
