About the Book

English summary: Penelope Delta (1874-1941) was the daughter of the president of the Greek community of Alexandria. Her memoirs, written for the edification of her daughters, present an exceptional account of cosmopolitan Greek bourgeois society at the turn of the century. Written in French beginning in 1899, this is the first time this work has been published in its original language.
