About the Book

PEEING WITH THE DOOR OPEN; Not a love story, contains a memoir, told from Payne's point of view. It describes her short lived affair with a charismatic young man and how his narcissism destroyed their relationship. It contains some her life lessons, and her perspective on love and priorities in a relationship. She shares some of her immense knowledge about horses and the psychology of a prey animal compared to that of humans as a predator species. She also supplies the reader with quotes and documentation on the Narcissistic mental disorder. This is an interesting inside view of the novelist and a revealing confessional. The second half of this book is dedicated to two poetry/prose collections, which Payne feels are some of her best work to date. WHITE LILY is her love and ardor spilled out at the beginning of the affair. AFTERMATH is her both, her confusion during, and her heartbreak after the affair ended.
About the Author: Payne Hawthorne is a California native who lives on the north coast in a rural, beach setting with her Corgi, two cats, and two horses. She primarily writes fictional novels, but also blogs non-fiction essays about her personal life and life lessons. She will be releasing her first non-fiction/memoir in early 2017 which will include two poetry collections. Everything Payne writes, carries a theme of self-discovery and change within the characters or herself. Her favorite themes are unexpected life changes, metaphysical and soul-searching questions, passion, lust, and anything extraordinary, fantasy, Sci-fi and paranormal. All her novels are unique, anti-formula love stories with out of this world characters and personality development. Much of her poetry is darker, soulful and manifests from her personal life. She tends to look at the difficult side of falling and staying in love with another human. "Love isn't always rainbows and roses. I like to write about the sometimes ugly side of opening your heart and soul to another." Payne hails from a 25 year background in horse training where she lectured, taught, and trained people how to think like a horse. The psychology of a lateral thinking prey animal is opposite of the human/predator species direct line approach, so her work is always unexpected with a mind-set not often heard. All of her novels are sprinkled with great animal moments, and her message, no matter human or animal, is that love should always be the most important ingredient in all interactions and relationships. When recently asked what her passions were, aside from writing, her answer was simply, "I am incredibly passionate about passion itself. I live to experience the carnality allowed when in an intimate relationship with a like-minded male." Her tag line reads: Meticulous Anarchy. Adult fiction author for the intelligent reader. Dessert for your soul, and Fairy Tales for adults. She has 8 novels in print and 10 as e-books. Her Dormant Desires Series is professionally narrated and available on Audible. All her titles are available on Amazon in multiple formats. You can find her other works on her dedicated website: www.paynehawthorne.com
