About the Book

American Indian democracy was destroyed by the colonization of America. How this was done and how it can be renewed is described with ideas that could help return true liberty to everyone. The U.S. was formed by a genocide of Indians which was a continuation of what was happening in Europe. After a lengthy war to conquer the tribes the immigrants began colonizing and changing the economy to a worldwide enterprise. Manifest Destiny enabled them to take the land from the Indians. Indian democracy is liberty, freedom and independence which is the same as the U.S. but the dominant society has distorted this and is returning to a modern day monarchy of top down government. Indians believe we are all tied to nature including trees, animals, rivers, earth, stars and galaxies. Indian humor enables them to cope with the ancestral history that almost decimated tribes. They use satire and irony. Indians are right brain thinkers which means they tend to be cooperative, emotional, respectful to group needs, oriented to the present, and interested more in control of self than of others. Europeans use their left brain more which means being highly competitive and aggressive with a winner take all attitude. Personal goals are more important than the groups. Obsessed with the control of others, only humans have a spirit, nature is to be conquered, physical healing not spiritual, and the more you own the better you are. They believe an illusion that life is entirely physical. This is the technocratic civilization of the Newton-Darwin era. This has resulted in reduction of individual sovereignty by a centralized system of government and business leaders. They do this by controlling the markets, government policies and education. True enlightenment is the realization that your world is not what you thought it is. The only way that can happen is to experience a paradigm shift. A critical mass of people must take an active role in creating a new civilization. They must shed obsolete beliefs, adopt a new morality, envision the world as they would like it to be and evolve their consciousness. This can be done by moving from the obsolete industrial age of conquest, colonization, and consumption to connection, communication and consciousness as promoted by Ervin Laszlo. Indians use the Medicine wheel which is a powerful metaphor for the totality of life. This is explained in detail. Astronaut Neil Armstrong guided the Apollo 11 Lunar Module to the moon on July 20, 1969 and he said "The Eagle has landed". As he jumped to the surface he said, "One step for man and one giant step for mankind". But did mankind's giant step open the door for solving world problems? Astronaut Edgar Mitchell believed so during his 1971 Apollo 14 flight but progress has been slow. In the Bible the eagle is the symbol for spreading the gospel over the world i.e., Isaiah 40:31 "They will soar as with eagles' wings". The United States Great Seal adopted on June 20, 1782 features the eagle. During the Seal's development, it was said the golden rays of light signifies "breaking through the clouds". That may mean rising to a new consciousness which is what Indians believe. Father Pere Teilhard de Chardin describes the spirituality evolution of people in his book "The Phenomenon of Mann". Many people, such as Deepak Chopra M.D. are studying human consciousness to find solutions to world problems. The Mayan discoveries provide a more detailed scientific description. These fit perfectly with the 10,00-year-old Indian Picture Rocks along the Columbia River which includes petroglyphs of human forms with lines radiating out from their heads like shown in Christian pictures of Mary, the mother of Jesus. The concentric circles are spirals which indicate the interchange between the physical and spiritual. The spiral vortex explains the Miracle of Life of humans going from the Spirit World to the Physical World through a miraculous transition from the Frequency Domain to the Time Doma
About the Author: Wendell George culminated seven years as a Boeing engineer with the Apollo Moon Program by presenting his technical paper on Cape Kennedy's telemetry checkout station at the 1966 Boston Aerospace conference. He continued writing when he returned to the Colville Indian Reservation by combining modern science with ancient tribal stories in his first book, Coyote Finishes the People. His Last Chief Standing book described how seven generations of his family survived the colonizing holocaust. His latest book, Raven Speaks, includes stories like: what it means to be First American, secrets of Spirit Chief, and Medicine Wheel mysteries. This book is about how the American Indian economy was changed from a free and independent system to a controlled one based on consumption. Ideas are presented that could help return liberty to everyone in the world. His engineering experience enabled him to discover the secrets of the Medicine Wheel which promotes peace. His great-grandfather, Chief Chilcosahaskt of the Entiat tribe, lived in three centuries from 1788 to 1903 and saw how the area was settled by the European immigrants. His grandfather, Chief Koxit George, was the first in his family to convert to a land-based living, a cattle ranch. His Dad, Moses George, was the last of the family to be born in a Tepee and served on the first Tribal Council. Wendell was elected to the Council almost fifty years later and also served as CEO of the tribal enterprises. After graduating from Washington State University in electrical engineering (BSEE) he spent fifteen years with Boeing at Seattle, Huntsville, and Washington D.C. That included missile programs, a submarine chaser, a computer-controlled transportation system, and the Saturn V Vehicle. He was on the Preliminary Design team for a Manned Mars Mission. His dad said on January 2, 1968 that his grandfathers' name meant "reaching for the sky" and Neil Armstrong landed on the moon on July 20, 1969. He grew up on the Reservation and after Boeing returned to the Reservation as their tribal planner. He helped develop several new businesses for the tribe. He served eleven years on the Wenatchee Valley College, seven years on the Paschal Sherman Indian School, and eight years on the Omak school boards. Until retiring he operated a 100-acre apple orchard and a 150-head cattle ranch. He and his wife, Barbara, live in Omak, Washington and had six children, six grandchildren and recently the first great-grandchild.
