About the Author: Mary Anne McMahon spent a happy childhood in Detroit, Michigan. She, like her father and brother, graduated from the University of Detroit. She went on to have a twenty-eight-year teaching career.
McMahon stayed in Detroit through the unrest of the 1960s and moved to Texas in the late 1970s. She still has strong ties to her beloved childhood home.
In addition to teaching, McMahon owned and operated a puppet-show business, which was hired for school presentations, special events, and birthday celebrations. She has written the book, The Motor City and Me: Our Story, spoken on TV and radio, given personal book readings, and done presentations on publishing a book.
McMahon has two daughters and three grandchildren. She now resides in Houston, Texas, with her husband, Bill.
