About the Book

The guidebook is for micro-enterprise founders and owners. Who then will benefit? Green grocers, bakers, solo consultants, doctors, hair stylists, service tradespeople like plumbers and carpenters, retail shop owners, technical start-up engineers and artisans making and selling their crafts. Also, older people shut-out of the job market seeking income by starting or running a micro business will benefit and entrepreneurial youth just entering the commercial world. The book instructs micro-venturers how-to use a PathMaster, who is a Mentor, Coach, Expert or Angel, as an assist in the enterprise's success. You will learn what they do best, where to find them, judging whether their personality, communication style and work ethic fit with your goals and team. Current and potential PathMasters/Advisors will learn how to more effectively work with a micropreneur and enterprise team members because each PathMaster has a distinctive value and assisting style. Advisors will understand new perspectives driving the micropreneur to gain insight into their hopes and fears, goals and why they behave and manage the way they do. This guidebook uses clear, practical language to describe simple methods to connect a microenterprise and a PathMaster. It explains how each PathMaster and a micropreneur works together to guide both toward new skills, market knowledge, clear business decisions, financial resources and team effectiveness. All is combined with my experience into easily understood information. The book is written for those of any educational level and those that English is their 2nd language.
About the Author: Jack Savidge brings to the book his experience from selling products door-to-door to a founding president of many microenterprises; from funding his own ideas to start-up and then as an angel investor; from a protégé to a mentor; from a novice learner from PathMasters to become a coach, expert and angel. Briefly, his relevant career paths were: - salesperson of fresh meat to butcher shops and restaurants; order desk clerk to the first 3M Company titled "Marketing Manager," - entrepreneur with a family of six and no business prospects, risked leaving a big firm to start a micro consulting business, - turn-around CEO of a failing energy hardware microenterprise by managing development of a unique product for new customers, securing venture capital, becoming profitable and then selling the company at a high return for the investor's risk capital, - co-founded a non-profit agency that assisted physically and socially disadvantaged micropreneurs. The agency excelled in delivering its charitable mission for 23 years, -expert consultant in new idea due diligence and proof of concept idea stage processes, -PathMaster to hundreds of microenterprises and served as a Board of Director member for over 25 small, emerging and publicly traded enterprises, -18 year entrepreneurship instructor at the Univ. of California, San Diego; founder and Senior Advisor of UCSD's The von Liebig Entrepreneurism Center that facilitates faculty ideas to commercialization. - published author of "Marketing Intelligence - Discover What Your Customers Really Want and What your Competitors are Up To" - Dow Jones Irwin (McGraw-Hill) in 1992. This book, now owned by Savidge under MIcropreneur Guidebooks, was also written for microenterprise owners and managers. Education: Lehigh and St. Lawrence University
