About the Book

Patent litigation can be a dizzying maze for the uninitiated. The substantive law, procedures, lingo, and various quirks inherent in this type of lawsuit can appear extremely complex-even mysterious-for those not intimately familiar with the process.

But have no fear. In Patent Litigation Primer, author Robert A. Klinck helps to demystify the patent lawsuit procedure for the inventors, business owners, investors, and other participants who might be new to the game.

This eye-opening book is designed to provide readers with a working knowledge of the relevant, essential issues by breaking them down into informative yet accessible sections. Divided into five parts that provide material on basic framework, fundamental legal issues, the litigation process, mechanisms for obtaining patent office review, and frequently asked questions, Patent Litigation Primer proves itself equally useful and readable for lawyers and laypeople.

Providing an educational yet reasonable overview of this difficult subject matter, Klinck offers an essential resource for anyone interested in developing a basic understanding of patent litigation.

About the Author: Robert A. Klinck is a lawyer and the managing member of Klinck LLC, a practice focusing on patent infringement litigation and licensing. He represents patent owners and accused infringers in patent infringement matters, including pre-suit negotiations and active litigation. He also advises entrepreneurs and innovators to help them develop intellectual property strategies.

He wrote Patent Litigation Primer to help the uninitiated learn about patent litigation. Based on his own experience, he knows that patent litigation can be a daunting subject matter. He prides himself on his ability to make complex matters digestible, and he brought that talent to the book.

Klinck received his BA from the University of Texas at Austin and his JD degree from Harvard Law School. During law school, he was a finalist in the Ames Moot Court Competition, a regional finalist in the ATLA Mock Trial Competition, and a member of the Harvard Journal on Legislation's leadership team.

After graduation, Klinck clerked for the Honorable Richard S. Arnold on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. While there, he also taught a seminar at the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Klinck welcomes questions and inquiries from readers and those with questions about patent litigation. For more information about the author or Klinck LLC, please visit www.klinckllc.com.
