This is a story of almost twenty-eight years of hardship, terrible sadness, suffering and ailment In this book you will find a real life story. My intention is that this book will somehow provide guidance and direction to address the ailments of body and soul. I will explain how I fight to establish a relationship between body, mind and energy and how I face life even when I sometimes feel I've lost its meaning and my desire to keep fighting. Through my story you will know how to face your fears, weakness, shame, hatred, resentment and other impairments that are the negative part of your body and can lead to the end of your existence. I also describe how to direct boundless enthusiasm into a tired body, very mistreated yet eager to live and how to deal with the situation with determination, willpower and always hand in hand with a "BIG SMILE". This life story has not been written to cause mourning, although in many of its pages there is profound and marked pain. Here is an extraordinary and sincere message of "STRENGTH and LOVE" for what you are...: "a chosen being" worthy and capable of doing what you want for yourself. About the Author: Carlos Patiño Effio was born on October 7, 1952 in Lima, Peru. He worked for more than eighteen years in the Central Mortgage Bank of Peru as General Subsecretary of the Board and Supervisor of Branches and Agencies. In 1981 he attended as a delegate of Peru to the "IX International Congress of Personnel Management" in Chile. While working at the Central Mortgage Bank of Peru, in 1982 he reorganized the system of the Archives of the Bank in an agreement made with the General Archive of the Nation of Peru. In 1997, residing in the United States of America, he spent six years as manager of major restaurants in Miami Florida. In 2003 he came to North Carolina where he currently resides and works at Members Credit Union, a non-profit institution, since July 2004. He served as Director of Latino Services since December 2005 until September 2012. In October of that same year he was promoted to Vice President of Latino Services. In 2005 he became Director of Centro Latino "Spanish Action" in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. In 2008 he participated as a committee member of Public Relations in "The Arts Council" of Winston-Salem. He was recognized as the "Latino Leader of 2011", receiving the Hanesbrands, Inc. award in recognition for his constant work in support of the noble and strongly dedicated Hispanic community of Winston-Salem. In April 2012 he was recognized by the Winston Lake Family YMCA for his contribution to the financial education of the Latino community through the program "Latino Achievers". During his work at Members Credit Union he accomplished the following achievements: - Substantially increased the presence of Latino members. - In 2008 he presented the project for the creation of the Kernersville branch, the Members Credit Union's first Spanish branch, which was approved and inaugurated the same year. - In 2010 created the "Latino Museum", the first Latino museum established in an office, collecting more than 400 valuable objects from all Latin American countries, which was inaugurated May 5th of the same year. This project was strongly supported by all his friends, among them the members. In June 2011 he was recognized for this distinguished work on the front page of the important local paper "Winston-Salem Journal". Carlos is a great bulwark of the Latino community and strongly supports non-profit organizations to achieve their internal objectives.
