Wie die Unternehmensführung der "Novo Nordisk," so haben viele schon seit langem erkannt, dass die Aktivitäten im Rahmen der Corporate Social Responsibility nicht nur gesamtwirtschaftlichen Nutzen haben, sondern dass man daraus auch wettbewerblichen Nutzen ziehen kann. Aus diesen und anderen Motiven suchen die Unternehmen unterschiedliche Wege, um sich als "gute Bürger" in die Gesellschaft zu integrieren. Eines der genutzten Instrumente ist die Corporate Social Responsibility unter der sich sektorenübergreifende Partnerschaften einordnen lassen. Gleichzeitig versuchen die Non-Profit-Organisationen (NPOs), sich langfristig zu finanzieren, sich betriebswirtschaftliches Wissen anzueignen oder Netzwerke mit anderen Akteuren aufzubauen, um ihre gemeinnützigen Ziele effektiver zu erreichen. Somit besteht zwischen den beiden Sektoren Wirtschaftsunternehmen und Non-Profit-Organisationen eine �berlappung, die für eine Zusammenarbeit interessant ist. Fraglich ist allerdings, was an dieser �berlappung geschieht. "[...] [Sind sie] vereinzelte Irrläufer oder die Vorboten einer neuen gesellschaftlichen Arbeits- und Verantwortungsverteilung?." Diese Frage explizit zu beantworten, ist nicht der Gegenstand der Arbeit, aber durch die vorgenommene empirische Untersuchung sollte dem Leser klar werden, mit welchen Gegebenheiten man es während der Zusammenarbeit zwischen Unternehmen und Non-Profit-Organisationen zu tun hat.
