Los personajes se localizan en diferentes partes del universo y en circunstancias muy variadas, a veces se les puede encontrar en los laboratorios participando en los experimentos de neurociencia o en la investigación de la física de las partículas y en otras viviendo en el sórdido ambiente de un leprocomio convertido en una cárcel de alta seguridad. Durante una estación, ellos sobreviven en medio del corredor de los tornados en el panhandle de Texas; en otra estarán luchando contra la crueldad y la desigualdad de la vida en las grandes metrópolis. Aunque una parte importante de la historia se realiza en China y en las montañas del Himalaya, la principal acción ocurre en los ríos de la Orinoquia en suramérica y en el supervolcán de Yellowstone en el estado de Wyoming de norteamérica. El protagonista principal de la historia, adquiere un estado transitorio de "locura brillante" y esto le permite hacer realidad sus fantasías amorosas en medio de la jungla de la Orinoquia. En una pequeña 4isla del rio Guainia, la Isleta Paloma, se realizó la cumbre del DH; a esta reunión asistieron personajes de todos los tiempos de la historia de la humanidad. Ellos para poder concurrir, fueron dotados con la condición de intemporalidad y gracias a esta genialidad, se pudo reunir en el mismo lugar a personajes humanos de diferentes épocas y características. Varios de ellos ya habían fallecido cientos de años atrás, pero otros aún estaban vivos y participando de nuestra contemporaneidad; algunos habían sido catalogados como buenos y otros como malos, pero todos con sus acciones o formas de pensar durante su momento histórico, habían influido en el destino de la humanidad. Este magno evento no pretendía juzgar el rol de ellos en la historia, el propósito era mucho más importante, lo que se quería era aprovechar su experiencia en la historia con el fin de: "buscar fórmulas para mejorar la calidad de vida de todos los seres humanos, sin excepción alguna". En la selva amazónica los personajes mundiales, resultaron involucrados en una peligrosa y emocionante aventura ecológica que terminó en un tepuy de la Serranía de Chiribiquete y del cual sale el colofón de la cumbre del DH: "El egoísmo es la fuente de los problemas de la humanidad y su solución, es tan compleja como simple: convertir en solidaridad el egoísmo de cada ser humano".5Al final de la lectura, se pueden extraer de la novela algunos conceptos útiles para la vida diaria que se sintetizan en: 1. El Bridwall que arregla el conflicto de los migrantes en América. 2. Felicidad y Estabilidad: Los seres humanos para conseguir la felicidad, deben lograr estabilidad; sin estabilidad no es posible la felicidad duradera. 3. El principio del DH: Una fórmula filosófica que plantea la solución a la mayoría de los problemas en la vida, a partir del mismo problema.
