About the Author: Maureen Bevans Ebersole is a lifelong traveler, born in New York, but raised in Taiwan and Spain. She has traveled worldwide, from North America to Asia, Europe, Australia, Africa, and South America. All three of her children have been educated at the French American International School in San Francisco and in public school in France. Maureen and her family are hooked on the combination of affordable, educational travel and pure fun available to kids in Paris and elsewhere in France and have made a habit of spending every summer there for more than a decade. They have owned a home on the French Atlantic coast since 2001, and the family lived in France during 2003 and 2004. They now shuttle regularly between San Francisco and Paris. Maureen is fluent in Mandarin and Spanish, and has mastered French with a very foreign accent, to the amusement of her bilingual children. She now enjoys France and its people as much as any of the many others she has come to know.
