About the Book

Introduction from the author In the 17th century, twelve poetic books were compiled to form the masterfully written and acclaimed work "Paradise lost". This is NOT that book. Unlike Milton's work, in "paradise Lost" by Shiloh Callaghan, the original sin has already occurred; the protagonist jailed; And those whom survived the worlds apocalypse are now stranded on the remaining piece of earth which makes up their home. Although the underline theme of this tale is stitched together with the essence of the original "paradise lost", it greatly differs from Milton's approach and style of story telling. This is a book of fantasy, science fiction and humor. There is no Adam, Eve, Satan or the like. There are instead Atheist, Believers, Agnostics and Deceivers (which rhymes with believers). I make no attempts to compare myself to the great English Poet. However I do feel strongly compelled to retell the biblical tale to an audience of our century's consciousness. Which is why YOU as the modern reader have also been given a roll to play in this "Dramody". Yes, YOU are a character in the tale of "Paradise Lost", the story that connects humanity's beginning to its End. Book Introduction: "Can YOU see it? Yes, YOU. It's hard not to, its everywhere, It's everything. The word disaster is almost complementary. Wouldn't YOU agree? It wasn't always like this you know. My home used to be a place of beauty and light. A place of miracles. Now look at my hands, look at my mouth! Before creation itself released from these fingertips, power dispersed from the tip of my very tongue. My dreams could become realities, my desires could come to fruition, I was a god, we all were. But that was before the rebellion. Before Kaustos broke the divine law of our civilization. And low and behold a war of Nightmares left all of this... ash in its wake. In the end, it was decided by someone that we could no longer handle the power that had been bestowed upon us. And with one final creation came these... these cursed shackles of hands and of tongues! Can YOU see that building behind me? It's the biggest one. Tall and ghostly looking isn't it? This is the prison that holds Kaustos. He has waited a longtime for YOU. And now that YOU are here, our story can continue. We can once again become free to create, free to dream and free ... to destroy! Thank YOU. For YOU are the final key that we needed to end...well, everything."
About the Author: Shiloh Callaghan was born in the Areop'agus of our age, Berkeley California. For the past decade, throughout the earth he has been a teacher, writer, public speaker and skateboarder who has striven to bring meaning to people's lives through his work (and his skateboarding). Behind every story, there are real life adventures that he has either experienced somewhere in the world, or he has seen firsthand. From living with tribesmen, to dinning with future kings, Shiloh has led a life rich with... Well, life! "I am not a Rhodes Scholar, I am a Rogue scholar," he says jokingly. This idea keeps him on an ever-moving quest throughout the globe, in hopes to enrich not only his life but to also enrich yours.
