About the Book

PARADISE IS FOR LADIES is the continuation of the award-winning novel THE HAPPY RAJ. When Akki, a Guadeloupian nurse is adopted by Nangi's family, her only preoccupation becomes attending on the pregnancy of Nangi who was working in her ship as a nurse. When Nangi receives a bathmalla Akki developed a jealousy for the mouth-watering dishes that are included in the bathmalla almost daily. She confides it with her adopted mother, and Ammi suspects it as a threat to the pregnancy of her daughter. She plans a coup and sends Akki for a meditation retreat for few days. When Akkireturns home with a reformatted head, Nangi's brother working in the Happy Raj appears with an invitation for the inauguration of their project. Although the due date of Nangi's child is to be the same date, they agree to attend the ceremonies, which include the ordination of their Nang's brother as a monk. Nangi makes a satyakriya and the child is born on in the Happy Raj on the same date. The two sisters meet Professor Happiraja and exhort him to open the male-only meditation center to women. When they return to Happy Raj for the first anniversary, the Paradise, a beautiful section for the ladies was in place with an inauguration seminar planned for the ladies in the Paradise. When the fifteen ladies from the Retreat who had come for the seminar were returning, their boat along with Chief Maniyo and Akki capsizes, making almost all of them sick. However, Akki manages to send old Maniyo to a hospital and arranged for a psychologist to see the others. Uncertainty of the condition of old Maniyo makes all at the Retreat to question their future. Akki manages to get them back by helicopter to open the Paradise Meditation Center. When Maniyo returned to the Paradise, Akki gets into the yellow garb. However, when Maniyo dies, Akki commences a book to honor her great teacher.
