About the Book

Written using actual letters, telegrams, pictures and postcards saved by the Author's mother. These were revealed to him by his brother long after by his brother after mom's death. The letters are detailed documentation of his service in the US Marine Corps. These letters actually helped him by speaking for him years latter from his mother's grave. They helped him to get his VA disability approved My latest book called "Paper Bridges to False Promises". This book reflects a mother's love for her son while he was serving his serving his country during the Vietnam War. The author's mom saved all the letters she, his friends and relatives sent. There are actual letters mailed and included in the book and scanned in. The letters are for the most part in chronical order with fill in messages of explanation as well as pictures from the Marine's Crouse Book. It's a true unravished story about a young man's time in the Marine Corps for four years. It has documents of his time in service including telegrams It takes the reader into the day to day events that were a sign of the times in the 60's. It's not the usual "Blood and Guts Combat" book. It is a day to day account of the now time of an ongoing War. The author is an aviation mechanic that does serve in the TET Offensive in Vietnam during 1967-1968. He leaves his safe urban home in Roseville Michigan one of three sons that were eligible to go to War and is the only one that serves. He finds himself being able to be responsible for aircraft that can fly twice the speed of sound with two pilots life's in his hands. He was able to turn-up and taxi an A-4 Skyhawk and but was unable to drink legally in the U S. It is a paradox of trust and a disruption of a young man's future cut short by an unpopular War. It is the author's hope you like it. Thanks for your time and consideration,
