P. nos va descubriendo un universo sin límites lógicos, absurdo y al mismo tiempo hermoso y novedoso, en donde los personajes hablan un idioma liminar y revelador. Si no fuera un cliché, diría que estamos ante un Bildungsroman cortito, un coming of age gamberro y de barrio. Y esa mirada hacia lo que queda atrás se llena de ternura, de añoranza de los que se alejan, de aventuras imaginarias que la adolescencia magnifica y de peligros reales que la inexperiencia nos impidió ver. La novela comienza con el anuncio de un advenimiento, pero, quizás, lo que hace es homenajear un abandono: el fin de una etapa cuyo centro gravitacional es una casa "de cuatro cuartos, dos baños, cocina abierta, dos balcones y sala de estar" en la que todos creen tonto o sordo al protagonista. En esa casa, entre profetas borrachos, filántropos pedófilos y vulvas geológicas, la cotidianidad late con banalidad reconfortante. Aunque el pan que habla esté a punto de llegar y el autor se ría con eso de realismos mágicos y dimensiones míticas de la realidad latinoamericana, nada de especial tienen esos padres que se pelean, no hay una historia "guau" en esa hermana mayor, no encontramos ningún valor encarnado en esos camaradas inseparables o esas mascotas humanizadas. Lo que desprenden todas esas figuras es la autenticidad de lo cotidiano. Y solo hay una manera de captar la autenticidad mientras se está contando un chiste tan largo y tan malo como la vida misma: con mucha ternura. (Daniel Vázquez Touriño, Universidad Masaryk)
