Ya no se trata de fórmulas ideales e idealistas en las que el autor se entromete con frecuencia, sino de sentencias bien diagramadas cuyo objetivo a ultranza es enseñar, orientar, dirigir.Por eso nos queda en el margen de comienzo al final, la rara sensación de frases ya leídas, de experiencias ya vividas, de situaciones ya confrontadas intelectualmente. Dicho de otra manera pasan por las páginas de EL PADRE, Rousseau, Tegore, tal vez Piaget y seguramente muchos otros que no alcanzamos a reconocer o recordar. Esta particularidad define pues, a EL PADRE. Su alcance como Ensayo Filosófico solo será dicho por otra generación. Pero no cabe la menor duda de su objetivo claramente didáctico; íbamos a decir Poema Didáctico, pero todavía nos chocan las pretensiones taxonomistas de los retóricos y, sobre todo, hace falta un ingrediente esencial a pesar del corte verso-librista del libro.Por otro lado, no es extraño encontrar una obra de corte educativo en un hombre que es, por encima de totas las contingencias de la vida, un educador. Educador en la familia, en el trabajo y en la sociedad, porque fue maestro toda la vida.
